Thankfully, Görlitz – especially the Old Town – has many dining options that change often and usually come with a charming atmosphere. Please note: our recommendations are not exhaustive. Görlitz offers so many sights that even a stay of more than two nights can be easily filled with things to see and do. This is not a complete list. The most important museums from a cultural and historical perspective are marked in bold for visitors with limited time.

Zu den berühmtesten historischen Persönlichkeiten von Görlitz zählt neben dem Bürgermeister und Mathematiker Bartholomäus Scultetus (1540-1614) Jacob Böhme, beide waren Zeitgenossen. Jacob Böhme wurde 1575 in Nieder-Altseidenberg, Freihaus 73 geboren (heute Stary Zawidòw, Polen). Das Geburtshaus stand vermutlich auf der dem Grundstück der heutigen Nummer 90.
