OUR VISION
Monika comes from the Polish countryside near Görlitz, and Andreas is from Rüdersdorf in Brandenburg. Through Monika, Andreas got to know Görlitz – and fell in love with it. Together, we decided to build a life here.
Even though we’re not originally from Görlitz, we’ve developed a deep connection to the city and have contributed, in our own way, to preserving what makes it special.
The apartments
The building itself dates back to the 15th century or even earlier, and its long history – especially in more recent times – is clearly reflected in its character. It once held the rare right to brew beer nine times a year. The space that is now a bakery used to serve as a taproom.
Our HISTORICA holiday apartments are located mostly in the front section of a multi-unit building with 13 flats. Five of them are used as holiday rentals, and one as a utility apartment.
Our concept is to offer fully equipped apartments for independent stays. Due to structural constraints, installing an elevator is not possible, so unfortunately the house is not barrier-free.

The entrance area, the ground floor, and significant parts of the first and second floors still stem from the original 16th-century structure. The current storefront and entrance façade date back to GDR times. The historic hallway is kept simple and is used by all residents. The staircase is an unusual blend of hall-house architecture, a 19th-century stair design, and a railing added around 1980 in the GDR era – all elements that remain part of the building’s lived-in character.
Our guests can expect fully equipped apartments that allow for independent and longer stays. All apartments follow a central design concept: to offer a sense of historic bourgeois life, primarily from the 19th century – without sacrificing modern comfort.
