Our story

About us

Monika is from the Polish countryside near Görlitz, and Andreas comes from Rüdersdorf in Brandenburg. Through Monika, Andreas got to know and love Görlitz and together we decided to build a life here. Although we weren't born here, our connection to the city is real, and in our own way, we've contributed a small piece to preserving what makes Görlitz special.

The Obermarkt is, alongside the older Untermarkt, one of the two most iconic squares in Görlitz’s historic center. Yet it sometimes feels like the city hasn’t quite managed to fully integrate this impressive square into its overall appearance, perhaps due to the weight of its complex history.
